RosUpack preparations are underway as planned

In connection with the spread of coronavirus, there are many questions about the measures taken by RosUpack organisers.

As for today, preparations for RosUpack are going according to plan, the exhibition will be held on the announced dates. We monitor closely the situation and the measures taken by the Government of the Russian Federation and Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) to prevent the spread of diseases caused by the new coronavirus. The Russian Federation has taken unprecedented measures that give good results and help curb its distribution. This approach is endorsed by the World Health Organization. That is why mass events and exhibitions continue to be held on schedule.

Please be informed that in accordance with the Moscow Mayoral order, additional restrictions have been implemented. All people arriving from the following countries (China, South Korea, Iran, Italy, France, Germany, Spain) should stay in quarantine for 14 days (at home or at hotel) and should not visit any events.

All visitors who plan to attend our events are recommended to avoid connecting flights via countries mentioned above, otherwise they will fall into the same restrictions.

There are still limitations for visa issue for citizens of China and Iran. There is only one option to attend events – to apply for business visa.

As organisers of trade events, we follow the instructions of Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor), where it is recommended to observe the rules of good hand and respiratory hygiene. A sufficient amount of hand sanitisers will be provided at the MITT venue, and those who wish to receive disposable masks can take them at the registration desk in the pavilion hall. At the end of the exhibition day there will be wet cleaning in the pavilion and foyer.

The navigation system provides additional signs regarding hygiene; during the opening hours of the exhibition, we have medical professionals onsite. We have a well-coordinated emergency management team in place who meet daily. All these measures will be taken at all of our exhibitions.

If the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) or the Government of the Russian Federation takes any new restrictive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, we will follow the official regulations.

RosUpack 2019, was a huge success, growing across all areas

Together with co-located printing and advertising exhibition Printech, this year’s exhibition area exceeded 32,800 m2. Over 650 companies from 36 countries took part in RosUpack, over 100 of which were newcomers to the show. Visitor numbers increased by 17% - 23,051 people from 70 countries and 79 regions of Russia attended.

This year, RosUpack hosted a delegation from the World Packaging Organization (WPO), while Antro Säilä, WPO Vice President for Sustainable Development and General Director of the Finnish Packaging Association, spoke at the conference ‘Packaging today and tomorrow: changes under the influence of global and local trends’ on the circular economy and its implementation in the EU.

RosUpack’s International Partner this year was the Chinese Association of Industrial Enterprises CCPIT. 92 Chinese companies showcased their products and technologies on a space of around 1,000 m2.

Showcasing their equipment and technologies, many exhibitors had extremely successful outcomes.

The Moscow Region Development Corporation received two investment applications for localising production facilities in the Moscow region. According to Alexander Fedorov, Deputy General Director, the total amount of investments on the applications exceeded 1 billion roubles.

Ishida Europe presented their packaging and filling equipment: combining dispensers, control devices for packaged products and many others. Their filling machine, consisting of the Inspira series packaging VFFS-machine and the combination dispenser for 16 heads, – the most productive filling machine in the world – turned out to be very popular among visitors.

The Naberezhnye Chelny Paper Mill held meetings with over 100 equipment suppliers, current and potential customers. As a result of exhibition, the company will receive new orders and increase production.

Tauras-Fenix held around 500 meetings and negotiations at their stand. This year, they introduced the high-speed automatic STICKPACK STP-250, designed for batch packing and packaging of loose, small-pieces into the most popular container today - stick packages. According to Marketing Director Tatyana Gordeeva, they closed three contracts onsite.

Russkaya Trapeza presented their most popular models of packaging equipment and new items released in 2019. They gained many business contacts, concluded agreements and signed contracts.
Bristol Group demonstrated various equipment for wrapping pallets with stretch film, shrink equipment, horizontal winding, and various types of marking and dynamic weighing. More than half of the presented equipment was reserved and prepaid for during the show.

“RosUpack is an effective platform for discussing trends in the packaging market and attending presentations by leading manufacturers, as well as a meeting place for manufacturers, dealers and customers,” said Konstantin Neznamov, Executive Director PCBK.

Packaging of the future: when can Russia expect a circular economy?

Antro Säilä, WPO Vice President of Sustainability and Director of the Finnish Packaging Association, spoke at the conference on the circular economy and experience of implementing it in the European Union.

A circular economy, or a closed-cycle economy, as opposed to a linear economy, involves using waste materials as raw material for new products.

The huge amount of waste currently being created and mainly used packaging is putting an unbearable burden on the environment. Public pressure on this issue is growing and politicians around the world are thinking about regulating the packaging industry and introducing a circular economy.
