SIG Combibloc - the System for Success

SIG Combibloc is one of the world's leading systems suppliers of carton packaging and filling machines for beverages and food. The company supplies complete systems including both the packaging materials and the corresponding filling machines.

In 2007 SIG Combibloc achieved a turnover of 1,235 million Euro. The company belongs to SIG Holding AG in Switzerland, which is part of the New Zealand based Rank Group.

Carton packs from SIG Combibloc protect the quality of food and drinks. The packaging ensures that the taste, nutrients and vitamins of products are preserved.

Technology for today and tomorrow

SIG Combibloc draws on the skills, experience and inventiveness of around 4,000 employees in 40 countries. Packaging plants and subsidiaries located throughout the world enable the company to respond quickly and effectively to local customer needs.

SIG Combibloc supports its customers throughout the entire process from market analysis and development of new product concepts to packaging design. In addition to this SIG Combibloc services include engineering and the installation of the filling systems through to full after-sales service. To ensure shared success in close collaboration with customers, SIG Combibloc monitors market trends and consumer preferences on an ongoing basis.

SIG Combiblocs filling machines are constructed in Neuss (Germany) and Rayong (Thailand). The filling machines are delivered to customers throughout the world. The supply of downstream aggregates and spare parts is coordinated and handled centrally in Neuss.

Well equipped for the future

The research and development activities for all international SIG Combibloc companies are based in Linnich (Germany). Apart from developing new packaging series and formats as well as new filling machines, the Research and Development team also concentrates on improving the quality of existing systems (machines, packaging materials and processes).

Microbiological testing and monitoring of prototypes are other key areas of the R & D unit. In addition, cooperation with scientific institutes, universities and suppliers in the research and development sector are also coordinated from there.
