BOBST is the worlds leading supplier of machinery and services to packaging manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible material industries. Founded in 1890 by Joseph Bobst in Lausanne, Switzerland, BOBST has a presence in more than 50 countries.
Building on the innovative technology of the NOVAFOIL 106, BOBST launches a new version of the hot stamper, dedicated to the application of holograms. Featuring a completely redesigned hologram application system, the NOVAFOIL 106 H gives converters maximum flexibility and efficiency for hot stamping transfer with holograms.

Only two years ago, the NOVAFOIL 106 was introduced. It was the first inline hot film stamping machine from BOBST offering an advanced cross-foiling option, increasing its efficiency and versatility. It also offered a new level of embellishment quality with its redesigned platen section - ensuring longer dwell time, stable platen temperature and higher pressure. Reliability, coupled with cost-efficient foil use and great flexibility, is also the basis for the new version of this compact and productive machine.
Swanline Group, a Zeus Packaging owned company, and leading supplier of specialist printed packaging and Point-of-Sale displays, has expanded its ability to provide flexible, trade only print and conversion services to the UK’s packaging and POS industries with two new machines from BOBST.

To help meet exponentially growing demand for its corrugated packaging solutions, the business has taken delivery of additional production technology, including a BOBST EXPERTFOLD 165 A2 folder-gluer and VISIONCUT 1.6 PR die-cutter, at its centrally located Staffordshire site.
BOBST has presented its annual Inventor Awards, given to innovators and their patents within the business that have pushed the boundaries of technology to enhance print and packaging workflows for customers.
For 2023, BOBST has issued two awards for the first time. The main Inventor Award has been presented to Patrice Chatry and Maude Steiner, inventors of the Non-Stop with Automatic Swords Selection innovation, while a Special Jury Award has been presented to Rene Heinze, inventor of an intermediate dryer in particular for rotary printing presses.

Spanish label specialist Germark extends its partnership with BOBST by investing in a new DIGITAL MASTER 340. As the fourth machine from BOBST in just three years, the All-in-One modular label press is being brought in to expand digital printing capacity and produce fully finished labels in-line for Germark’s high-end customers in the beauty and cosmetics market.

Always a trailblazer when it comes to new technology, Germark S.A., in Barcelona, seeks out the best to serve its customers with exceptional label quality. The company operates a large fleet of flexo and digital presses which already includes three pieces of BOBST equipment: two MASTER M5 inline flexo presses and a BOBST inkjet machine. The addition of a brand-new DIGITAL MASTER 340 is a key part of Germark’s strategy to increase the automation level in its workflows and deliver innovative, sustainable solutions.

The anniversary machine - a MASTERLINE DRO with six printing units - will be installed at the new PACKNERS GmbH plant in Emsbüren in north-west Germany. In addition to the automatic anilox roll change, fully automatic register settings with the Start & Go system and the integrated anilox roll cleaning, the rotary die cutter will be equipped with a MULTILOADER pre-feeder, a SPEEDSTACK stripping unit and bundle stacker, along with a SPEEDPAL palletizer. As a result, PACKNERS will have the ability to fully exploit the high productivity of up to 12,000 sheets per hour while achieving the fastest job changes.
In its 2030 vision, BOBST has declared sustainability as one of its four pillars, meaning the Group intends to take strong actions and report publicly along the strictest Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) standards. The first step was an assessment of the current situation in order to set the right course. We asked EcoVadis – the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings – to provide an initial sustainability rating early in 2021, which led to a result of 34 points. One and a half year later, we are happy to report that great progress has already been made, with BOBST reaching 49 points and earning a bronze medal. “This is of course just a step forward, not the end of the journey,” according to Gabriel Migy, Head of Corporate Sustainability at BOBST.

Founded in 2007, EcoVadis is a provider of sustainability ratings to more than 100 000 companies worldwide, including multinationals such as Nestle, LVMH, and Johnson & Johnson. Companies must undergo a process of questioning relevant to their business field and activities, and prove their declarations. They are then given a global score calculated from the aggregation of four categories: Labor & Human Rights, Environment, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
At interpack 2023, taking place in Düsseldorf, 4-10 May, BOBST innovations will be a major presence throughout the tradeshow, with several samples and machines shown at stands across the exhibition. BOBST staff will be on hand during the exhibition to discuss the benefits of these innovations with attendees.
